Then she moved in Los Angeles and studied theatre at the University of Southern California. for a year and a half, she played Belle the princess of Beauty and the Beast. Her departure from college was to find an agent. Then she began doing auditions and appearing on TV and film. Butler appeared as an actor in the TV series CSI: Miami, CSI: NY. Her role has also appeared in two films: A Couple of White Chicks at the Hair Dresser (2008) and Flu Bird Horror (2008 Syfy TV Horror Film). She also had a part in the web-series Luke 11:17. The show was written and produced by Don Stark. Butler played a part on I Love Vampires and a regular one in Luke 11:17. She was awarded the title in I Spit on Your Grave which is a remake of the 1978 film of the same title. While initially dissuaded by the nakedness of the film as well as the brutality, its strong female edge and character storyline convinced her to perform the role.
