Srushti deshmukh who is in her third year in engineering, has already begun to prepare for UPSC. In her final year of engineering, Deshmukh questioned if she would enjoy working in engineering. Then, she realised civil engineering was her love and focused on it. Parents encouraged her to become an official in the civil service and to pursue a career in public service. She did not lose motivation and was focused in her pursuit of becoming an IAS. To be able to pass UPSC to be successful the hard work of a lifetime is needed. She prepared for UPSC subjects while she studied her engineering. Everyday she carved out time for exam preparation. She completed her engineering examinations in only one-and-ahalf months. She stayed out of social situations. She believes that being focused on the task at hand is key to passing the exam. Her efforts were arduous to attain her dream of passing the exam at first attempt. Each day she would read the newspaper to keep up with current events. In the online world, she found a variety of study material as well as watched Rajya Sabha TV.
